Marcus and Jack go on Vacation

Although Marcus and Jack lived together (with a couple of humans) in an apartment in Queens, they were only able to spend quality time with each other when they went on vacation, usually to Santa Fe. At home, Jack was often away, hanging out (and sometimes getting into serious trouble) with a pack of stray mutts who loved to roam the streets of Soho in search of food opportunities. Marcus was more of a stay at home dog, though because of his barking problem, he was in and out of his crate quite a lot.

In Santa Fe they liked to frequent the art galleries, especially during openings, when wine-inebriated ladies were generous with cubes of cheddar and swiss. During the days they explored the ancient Indian ruins, and often found fossilized fish to roll in. They pretended it was 10,000 years ago, and enjoyed re-enacting a canine version of a tribal dance. This involved rubbing charcoal on their faces, a great wagging of tails, and running around in circles, barking at top volume. The only problem, of course, was that the people didn’t seem to appreciate their joyful efforts.
